Each piece is ready-to-hang, mounted on acid-free backing and matted with acid-free Crescent mat board for longer life. It is then professionally framed using UV blocking glass, and hand-crafted hard wood frames.

Due to the limitation of scanning and imaging technology, the colors in these images might not exactly replicate the colors in the actual hand-painted works.

Short-headed Seahorse
Drawing this was a bit difficult with the texture of the skin and the skeletal ridges. I wanted the features as clear as possible without looking too cluttered.

Pot-bellied Seahorse
I was inspired to start drawing seahorses from a wonderful exhibit they had at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was a very different experience than drawing birds, but one I very much enjoyed.

Dwarf Seahorse
This particular seahorse is almost too small to be believed - I suppose it leaves one with a sense there might still be a little magic left in the world.

Brown Pelican
I had a really excellent experience with this pelican at the wharf in Santa Cruz, CA. He was quite willing to pose for long periods of time to be drawn. This picture is all done with stippling (dots of ink); I chose not to color it for fear that the detail might be lost.

Snowy Plover
This is a baby snowy plover, rescued by the Monterey Bay Aquarium at 1 week old. They were forced to hand feed him, so he has now bonded with people.

Carribbean Green Sea Turtle Hatchlings
This picture was inspired by a documentary on sea turtles. When I was finished with this picture I had to laugh because the scene reminded me of a traffic jam.
